Art,s cessna landing with the battery hanging Video

Cessna Plane was established in Witchita, Kansas in 1927 by partners Clyde Cessna as well as Victor Roos. After a brief closing induced by a bad economic climate, Cessna made a comeback begining in 1934. By 1940, the military in both the United States as well as Canada were actually placing huge orders for Cessna T-50′s. Cessna returned to producing commercial aircraft in 1946, unveiling brand-new Models 120 as well as 140. Cessna has made over 100,000 single engine airplanes. Not merely is actually Cessna the most typical private plane, it is actually the most commonly made use of airplane for training new pilots. Because of that success Cessna produced many airplanes for sale.

The Cessna 152 is actually a single-engine routine aviation plane, mainly used for flight instruction as well as touring. It is a two-seat craft by having an all-metal airframe, optional dual controls and tricycle landing gear. The 152 has over 100 offered alterations, incorporating STOL, auxiliary gas tanks as well as tailwheel alteration. Maximum speed is actually 110 knots, stall speed is actually 43 knots, as well as the rate of climb is 715 feet per minute. Development on this model ceased in 1985.

As scholar pilots, we learned to fly in the cramped quarters of the Cessna 152. As instrument pilots, we finished to the roomy 172 then the 182RG. If we were actually lucky, the plane college had a Cessna 310 we might utilize for our twin-engine commercial instruction. If not, we made a short reluctant departure to an additional manufacturer and dreamed of the day we’d step into the cockpit of yet another Cessna airplane.

The Cessna 400 Corvalis is a single-engine plane by having fixed-gear. It is actually the fastest of its kind currently in development, reaching 235 knots at 25,000 feet. Like the 172, it is a four-seat airplane. It is approved in the Power company Category and has a higher lots issue than most equivalent aircraft. The Corvalis Continental TSIO-550-C engine manufactures 310 horsepower at 2600 RPM. In March of 2011 Cessna unveiled a brand-new variant called the TTX model.

How do you turn on the under wing courtesy lights on a cessna 172? A cessna 172 has two outside under wing courtesy lights. The switch location for these lights is not readily known. I would like to know where these switches are.

It’s the same switch that turns on the rear cabin lights it should be right above your head in the middle of the cabin.

You know, I never knew what those lights were. I always just used them during night landings so I would be more visible. Thanks for teling me what they really are. The switch is above your head. I thinks its the middle switch.

Direct and fixed costs for operating a Cessna 172? just all costs relating to a cessna 172 just the actual costs not actual prices, i will source them myself so for example i know a direct cost would be petrol, and overhauls and such, but im new to this so i dont know everything sources would be good as well it would be great if a c172 owner could post his spreadsheet of costs

One of the best places to see ESTIMATES for operating costs is over a PlaneQuest. They have a good database and good information. There are still some variables. The number of hours you fly each year, the Local costs of hangars, fuel, taxes etc. But the data given is a great starting place for your information. Start http://www.planequest.com/operationcosts/ http://www.planequest.com/operationcosts/op_cost_info.asp?id=96 for the 172I-M models Also notice that the exact model of your 172 will also have an impact.

It cost me about $60 an hour to run my 172… That price does not include the fixed costs (insurance and hanger) But simply to run the engine..

Check with local airplane owners for their preferences as to sources and the costs in your area… they vary widely depending on where you are located. Fixed Costs: Hangar/Tiedown Insurance Annual inspection Maintenance Repetitive Airworthiness Directives Contingency fund Registration (local/state) Hourly Costs Oil Gas Engine overhaul reserve

Why not go to the airport and talk to some 172 owners? At school we’re getting, more or less by osmosis, a good grounding in the realities of owning and operating one’s own plane. Several embryonic partnerships are starting to take shape, since this is the preferred way to own a plane for most people. Which 172, BTW? They first flew in 1955, are still made today, and have been made in 20-odd different versions. The operating cost of a late 1970s 172N is going to be very different from a brand new 172SP, and will be different from a 172A that’s been flying since 1960.

when i first started flying I would tell people landing is like driving a stickshift talking on the phone and eating a burger at the same time… since then it has become pretty much second nature, but when you first start flaring will be the most difficult part, but it all becomes easy after some practice. Unless you’ve got enough money I’d say the hardest part is getting money to be able to fly… Flying is the easy part.. good luck

very easy in fact a 12 year old person can fly it if he/she know the basic skills. Many people this days might now how to fly real planes because they use Microsoft Flight simulator X. Wich is a PC Flight simulator game just like the real world.

Ground school is no joke and you must take it seriously, but most people find flying easy and natural. Go on a fam flight and see what you think. You’ll fly with an instructor, but you’ll sit in the pilot seat and fly the plane a bit to see what it’s like. I was hooked. Maybe you will be too. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? I found the 172 a tight fit (I’m tall and a bit on the heavy side), but am comfortable in a Cherokee. Later: PC flight simulators are fun, but I find real planes easier to fly, and more fun too. Since you can’t feel the simulated plane, you tend to fly on instruments a lot more than you should. As an exercise I’ve done flights with no flight instruments at all, judging the aircraft speed and attitude entirely by look and feel.

How do annual taxes for single engine aircraft work? What would they be say on a 30K Cessna 172 ? Located in Los Angeles, California.

In florida there is no annual tax. Register the AC in a state or county which has no taxes.

Depends on what country or state you live in. Since you didn’t give that info, it is very hard to say.

Call the county and ask them what the rate is. It varies by county and by what they think of airplanes.

How can I listen to my iPod in a Cessna 172? I want to listen to music on my iPod through my David Clark headset while flying a Cessna 172. The music should cut out when receiving so I don’t miss ATC calls, other aircraft on the frequency, etc. Ideally, the music should also cut out when passengers talk, and my passengers would also be able to hear the music (it would cut out for them when I talk, when ATC or another aircraft on the frequency talks, etc.), but this is not a requirement.

Hey, if your radio system has that feature the cuts the music when the radio is transmitting, go for it. I know I would. I have known people to put earbuds in under the headsets while flying. I don’t recommend this if you are the pilot. I have done it though as a pax many times.

altho no one would ever recommend it bose sells headphones that plug into ipods but they also cost between 900-1200 dollars so……ya. also there are a number of different companies that sell plugs that plug that will hook your headset into it. a better rout is an entertainment intercom, Cretan aftermarket systems allow you to listen to music but it is muted when a radio call, or something else goes wrong. they also will allow your passengers to listen to something diffrent than you it is panel mounted check aircraft spruce

Buy a Lightspeed Zulu headset. Much quieter so you don’t have to crank the music, and it has a cutout feature for intercomm and radio. I don’t bother with the cutout unless the radio is busy and then I just turn it off. I’ve never found it to be too distracting as long as you keep it low (I can still hear radio calls over it). Old timers used to do the same thing with the ADF.

There are a lot of intercom systems and audio panels made that have “aux” inputs which allow just what you asked. PS engineering, Garmin, King all have audio panels that have “music” inputs and mute music for Com communications. PS Engineering Aerocom III Stereo Portable Intercom also has music input and is a portable unit. There are many portables with MUSIC inputs just check with Sporty’s, Chief Avionics, your local pilot shops for a portable if you don’t have intercom within the aircraft.
